Luxury Sedan Driving Experience: Genesis vs Infiniti

When you choose a luxury sedan, you generally expect a superior driving experience. You want more power and greater agility. Which of these rides is more likely to give you the fun you are hoping for?

    Performance Specs

With both of these rides, the horsepower output is 300. That’s a terrific amount, especially for the more lightweight G70. Its turbo four generates 311 lb-ft of torque compared to the 295 lb-ft generated by the Infiniti’s turbo V6.

Even better, the G70's superior torque arrives at lower RPMs, which translates to a more responsive and engaging driving experience. The Genesis sedan’s trimmer figure and its 8-speed automatic transmission are additional handling advantages.

    Gorgeous Interiors

The two brands certainly compete when it comes to luxurious leather interiors. They have different cockpits, since the Infiniti has a 7-inch and 8-inch screen instead of the larger 10.25-inch screen on the G70.

When it comes to standards, they also compete to give you more. This includes power-adjustable seating, dual automatic climate controls, and top quality materials throughout the cabin. Genesis really leans in, providing navigation and speed limit information. For more details, check out this 2025 Genesis G70 Review.

As for style, it’s clear that the G70 provides the most modern approach. The Infiniti Q50 was originally designed in 2014.  Technology Comparison

    Technological Advances

While both the Genesis G70 and Infiniti Q50 offer a comprehensive suite of driver-assistance features, there are some key differences in their availability and sophistication. For starters, there are ten airbags on the G70 compared to six on its rival.

These two luxury sedans both have a blind spot warning and lane departure warning as standard features. However, the Infiniti sedan does not include the active collision avoidance assists found in the G70. This means the Infiniti Q50 in Phoenix will warn you of potential hazards, but it won't actively intervene to prevent a collision.

Both luxury sedans have Adaptive Cruise Control to handle more of the driving duties. However, Genesis offers a more advanced system that interfaces with the standard navigation. Infiniti Q50 adaptive cruise control operates independently of the navigation system without considering upcoming curves or speed limit changes.

Standard on the Genesis, but not listed on the Infiniti, Safe Exit Assist is a parent’s friend. When the car is parked, it uses blind spot monitoring sensors to detect approaching vehicles from the rear. If it detects a vehicle, it will provide audible and visual warnings to prevent a door opening into traffic.

Another Genesis parenting tool is the Rear Occupant Alert. This system helps prevent children or pets from being accidentally left in the back seat. It uses ultrasonic sensors to detect movement. It may sound the horn, flash the lights, and can even send a notification to the driver's smartphone.

In summary, while the Q50 sedan in Phoenix offers a solid set of safety features, the G70 provides a more advanced and proactive approach to driver assistance with its inclusion of collision avoidance assists and navigation-based adaptive cruise control. These features contribute to a safer and more convenient driving experience.  Driver Assistance Comparison

    Ownership Experience

Genesis works to ensure that the ownership experience is a good one for years to come. It keeps daily costs down with better fuel economy, whether it’s the rear-wheel or all-wheel sedans.

For the first three years up to 36,000 miles, the two brands provide complimentary maintenance. With Genesis, this comes with a complimentary concierge service so that owners don’t have to interrupt their schedule to enjoy these vital services.

Where the Infiniti Q50 limited warranty lasts a maximum of four years, the Genesis G70 limited coverage lasts for up to five years. The same goes for its roadside assistance. Even more significantly, whereas the Infiniti ends powertrain coverage by six years, it can last up to ten years when you choose the Genesis G70.  Ownership Comparison

Conclusion

These two start out as close competitors, but the closer you look, the more you see that the G70 is the better value. It’s more fun to drive, better equipped, and technologically advanced.
